A Conneaut Lake Tradition Since 1972

For generations, the Barbara J has been one of Conneaut Lake's most recognizable landmarks, creating unforgettable memories for families, visitors, and lake enthusiasts alike. Built in Michigan in 1955, this authentic sternwheel paddleboat has been cruising the waters of Conneaut Lake since 1972, offering guests a unique way to experience Pennsylvania's largest natural lake.

Measuring 62 feet in length and weighing 45,000 pounds, the Barbara J features a comfortable covered lower deck and an open-air upper deck, allowing passengers to enjoy the cruise in every season and from every perspective.

In 2015, the Barbara J entered a new chapter when Barbara J Cruises, LLC acquired the vessel. Since then, extensive renovations have preserved the boat's historic charm while adding modern comforts and reliability. Improvements include a completely refreshed interior and exterior, ADA-accessible boarding ramps, an upgraded sound system, enhanced passenger amenities, lower deck heating, and modernized power and navigation systems.
